Project background

Jushi Group built a smart manufacturing base in Tongxiang. Its internal logistics system uses custom metal pallets that must be handled by unmanned forklifts. The site contains 3–4 types of non-standard pallet, and pallets can become misaligned during transport.

Project challenges

  • Multiple pallet types: Custom metal pallets have substantially different geometries, making coverage by conventional recognition methods difficult.
  • Misalignment correction: The unmanned forklift needs the relative pose of the pallet and load to adjust its fork angle.

Solution

Bluebotics deployed an unmanned forklift equipped with MRDVS PalletPro. The system uses a 3D ToF camera to capture depth data and detect pallet position and pose, providing inputs for autonomous correction and fork pickup.

Results

The solution supports recognition and automated handling of multiple custom metal pallets, reducing the effect of pallet shape and placement deviations on the pickup process.
